Two Democrat lawmakers, Rep. Melissa Hortman and Sen. John Hoffman, and their spouses were shot in their homes overnight by someone impersonating a police officer, in what police are calling a targeted attack, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune.
According to Fox 9, Hortman, Hoffman and their spouses were shot in their Brooklyn Park and Champlain homes. Gov. Tim Walz confirmed the deaths of Hortman and her husband at a press conference this morning. Walz said he is “cautiously optimistic” about the condition of the Hoffmans.
Authorities are looking for 57-year-old Vance Boelter, who was identified by two anonymous sources, according to the Associated Press.
The shelter-in-place is no longer in effect, but the search continues. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

Multiple sources with direct knowledge of the investigation confirmed that Boelter’s
so-called confession letter intended for the director of the FBI that Gov. Walz was blamed for the shooting rampage. This is getting crazier the more we learn.

Matt you are 100% correct. When are the Dems going to wake up? It’s so sad that they are so far gone they can’t think straight straight and pull a sick act like this!
God bless the people effected by this insane act!

Melissa Hortman was the only democrat who voted for the bill that took away healthcare for the illegals. It passed with only one vote. So yes looks like one of democrats lost it because they didn’t get their way and committed this terrible act. When are the democrats going to stop the violence???? This is sick!!!!

From a recent CBS article:
‘State records show Boelter served two consecutive three-year terms on the development board, first appointed by then Gov. Mark Dayton in 2016. Three years later, Walz reappointed him.
A spokesperson for Walz’s office gave this statement to WCCO on Tuesday:
“There are thousands of volunteers of all political persuasions who serve on hundreds of these boards. That particular board has over 60 people on it. The Governor does not interview applicants for these roles and he does not know Boelter. They are not appointments to a position in the Governor’s cabinet. These boards and commissions have no authority to make decisions, change laws, or implement policies.” ‘
According to his own voting records as well as his best friend/brother/roommate, Boelter is a conservative evangelical and a rabidly anti-choice homophobe. If he is anyone’s, he’s one of yours, Matt and Doug.

@Matt
The killer had a manifesto where he outlined plans to target democratic politicians and abortion clinics. I don’t think he was a far left terrorist, he sounds more like a right-wing terrorist and MAGA supporter.
Try reading actual credible sources and facts instead of whatever Loony outlandish low IQ nonsense and your trailer park buddies spend all your time reading.
Use your brain, if you even have one.

What a miserable thing to say. You’re blaming anyone other than the actual killer, the only responsible party. That’s worse than sad, it’s disgusting and disrespectful. Shame on you.

When are the Dems going to stop all of the rhetoric? Looks like they pushed the negative crap so far that one of their own lost it.

Before anyone begins to “um actually, this is a leftist attack,” his manifesto included planned attempts on Tim Walz, Ilhan Omar, Keith Ellison, Tina Smith, and a litany of abortion providers and pro-abortion activists. So it seems like once again this was an act of far-right violencr.

This is a result of all the hate the person currently in the White House spreads.
